    Hi everyone,

Im finishing up my bachelors degree in Arts in UCD, and I have been thinking about doing the Post-Grad in Primary school teaching, but it doesnt look like its a good time to get into it. I subbed for a few days during the christmas holidays, and I honestly really enjoyed it. I went in feeling like I would be totally out of my depth, as I have no experience subbing but it went really well and I felt like I really connected with the kids. :)

My problem is, should I go for the Post-Grad? With the situation at the moment with jobs I am wondering if I should go for it at all. It is something I want to do, but its scary that the people graduating this year from the B.Eds might not get jobs themselves. :(

Should I go for it or try something else until the job situation improves?

Like everythingelse at the moment, it's probably difficult to advise anybody as we don't know what the economic situation is going to be in the country for the next few years. If you can afford to spend another couple of years studying, at least get one of the most widely accepted qualifications in primary teaching. It's going to be hard enough to find employment in the coming years but hopefully things will improve in 3 or 4 years.
