Title speaks for himself really. i'm in Business Studies second year and i have an option of doing INTRA for my entire third year. i decided to do it, but now i'm getting worried cos there seems to be very views jobs going in general, let alone companies taking on a paid intern for 11 months. anyone else on the mandatory INTRA having problems.

Hey I am currently on intra, doing CA, a lot in my course have found it hard to get a job. Infact a few have signed there contracts hadn't even started yet and had to be let go because the companies couldn't afford to hire them anymore.

If you have good grades and haven't had to repeat the year you will be fine, or that is how it worked for CA unfortunately, I think businesses felt that if they where going to take someone on at all they didn't want anyone with bad track records. I can get it, but I think its stupid, some guys I know that don't have jobs are excellent workings and would be great!

i found the whole intra thing a little strange.. i know a few students who were very picky about their placements.. unwilling to travel, unwilling to expand their views on what jobs they want...

"in the current climate" ( :( ) its difficult enough as it is to get a job...

I did not get an INTRA position this year.

I don't think I'd be one of those picky people. I applied for the jobs I thought I could do, and do well.

INTRA co-ordinator said she will be sourcing jobs until the end of April for CA's.

If I say any more I'm just going to land myself in hot water with people, so I won't bother.

In fairness, there are lots of jobs out there if people would just look for them. Students are so picky!

I find in my course (a humanities one) that the biggest problem with Intra is the lack of communication between heads of our course and students. In an uncertain time where we don't even know if jobs are available to us, never even mind paid jobs, I feel that course co-ordinators should be more willing to keep us in the loop. The idea of students being too picky is ridiculous!
