Applied for dole, got 3 weeks work then laid off, what now?

I searched a bit but didn't find anything like this, thanks for all the help.

About 4 weeks ago last Friday I signed on the dole for Job seekers allowance. A week later got a job, didn't cancel dole as the new job took my PPS num for tax and everything, so assumed it would cancel. If it didn't I would have foregone it anyway, I don't like scamming the system.

Three weeks later I got laid off. Will I have to start from scratch again, or will my claim still be processing? If it is still processing any expected time frame for it to come through?

    Cheers.

Your going into legal issues here so I am not going to eloberate much. But as far as the dole is concerned they class you as still out of work. They were paying you I take it?

If so the next time you sign off and sign on they will spot the difference in your insurence and take back what you owe them

You could be lucky and get a monday morning person but I doubt it. I am very efficent. Be careful what you post. Its a big world out there :D

No, it never came through. I got work a week after I went in to apply. That was my issue: whether or not I would have to re-apply.

Just tell them you picked up a bit of casual work and these are the dates. They'll simply deduct those days.

Oh my appologies. The exact same thing happend to me thats why I read the post. I was laid off I applied to the dole. The following week I got a job 5 weeks later I was laid off. So I re applied

What they do is cancel you initial registration and treat it like you only started again but dont require all the documentation to be completed. They will just require your P45 But go down straigh away the will register your out of work from now and back date you.

I am no off the labour again so its not uncommon. To answer your question no you dont have to start all over again then. Just register now and then bring your P45.... Best of luck

The issue is that I NEVER heard from them after I applied: ie they havent processed my application yet?

Just rang the welfare office there.

My claim was made in the second week of March, they're only processing claims from end of January at the moment apparently. So it wont come through for a while.

In the interim, I have to go in and fill in an unauthorized work form, as does my employer. This will then be taken into account when calculating my claim. Basically I will get no money for the 3 weeks I worked.
