Ebay Asking for verification

So I'm trying to log into my ebay account, and it says it needs verification, and brings me to a page, beginning with https://cschat1-na.corp.ebay.com
which is a chat room with someone on the other end, who asks me some personal details.

Now I'm not 100% knowledgeable about internet security, but a red flag raised, when I heard that. I've heard 100 times. Never reveal personal details to someone online. Is it possible that some virus or spyware caused my browser to redirect to that page?

My second red flag was when I gave her most of my information, with a few letters starred out, enough so that if she really did have the information in front of her, there was no way I could be lying, but not enough that it would be any good by itself.

She said she needs the full details, and that that's not good enough.

I then asked her what I bought on a certain date. Something ebay would surely have on file. She said she couldn't give that out.

So anyone know? Scam or not? It all seems very suspicious to me.

Well, eventually she phoned me on my mobile, and reactivated my account.

I logged in, started a new auction.

Half an hour later recieved this email

"We have ended the following listing(s) on your account as they appear to have been listed by a third party without your authorisation. Any associated fees have been credited to your account and will be visible on your account status within the next seven days."

I wen online, and my password no longer worked, so I went throught the forgotten email rigmarole, and changed it.
So, I put the auction up again. Hopefully it won't be removed this time.

Anyone know why this happened? Is there any way to get it relisted, if it's taken back down again? What's ebay's Customer service number?

You should see the customer service number when you log in to eBay. Don't know why it's happening though, they obviously think there's something dodgy going on with your account, and will likely remove any new listings unless you can convince them otherwise.

It's happened again. What a pain. I'm gonna try calling tech support, see what they say.

    Im having similar problems.
Ebay limited my account just the other day for the third time saying that they require tracking numbers for items I've sold.
I just send by normal mail and don't get tracking numbers.
So I've to wait until all the items show up until they will let me send money on paypal again.
    A total joke!
