Just a question about car wash's that pull the car through by the front wheels (while the car remains in neutral). Is it ok to put a rear wheel drive automatic through one of these? I know such cars should not be towed, but is this ok as the distance is minimal?

Once it's in neutral and not park I can't see an issue.

You should be fine, however you may need to have the ignition on to put the car neutral, I know this is the case with mine.

Best way to do this would be to have the engine running and in neutral. This means that the oil pump for the gearbox will still be running so no damage will be caused. Most autos can be towed a short distance at low speeds without causing any harm so this short distance would not cause any problems even if you didnt have the engine running.

Not really what you might want to hear but don't put your car near one of those washes it will destroy the paint work.
