Yeah, so I think it was mentioned a few times already, but now it is official.

I can picture a queue of people from here placing orders, I think the pink lining might even go very well with a certain planet-x bike:

A product so thoroughly un-Euro does not stand a chance here.

The price is just stupid as well. I would never pay that money for any piece of clothing, of any kind.

It looks like it should come with a monocle and brass handled riding crop.

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to get a t shirt with "I'm a Pretentious Twat" printed on it?

No. Just no. Anyone who wears one of these should be set on fire.

really don't understand why people go near the rapha clothing. Their motto seems to be, 'make nice average clothing and charge treble what everyone else does for it'.

Cos their socks and base layers are bloody comfy, and not a rip off, that's why :)

I like the look of their jerseys and the casual cycling stuff. Haven't bought any though.

I have the Campionissimo shirt, belgian country jersey, touring shorts and cap.

It is all very good quality and looks nice (IMO). The "country jersey", for instance, is in a completely different class (comfort and fit-wise) to the top of the range DHB jersey I bought, which itself wasn't cheap.

Yes, it is astonishingly expensive. As with most things, diminishing returns apply.

Recently got one of their long-sleeved jerseys and I'd have to say it is the most comfortable jerseys I've ever owned. And not just comfortable, but well-cut, well thought-out in the design of the pockets, taping around the seams etc, and generally stylish in an unshowy way. Assuming that it wears (in the sense of durability) well, I don't doubt that I will get the same or more wear out of it that I would get out of two jerseys that were half the price. They are "astonishingly" expensive, like Assos or Castelli are expensive, or any of the companies producing high-quality 100% merino wool jerseys. But I think if you've already spent a lot of money on building up a decent bike and you spend a lot of time riding it, those prices seem more reasonable if they get you clothing that will make that time more comfortable and more enjoyable.

That said, the gloves I bought developed a couple of splits in the seams between the fingers, so I'll see how good they are about replacing defective goods, and whether a replacement pair will be any better. At those prices, the customer service had better be good. Will report back.

And no, I won't be buying the suit.
