Foreign certs - official translation?

    I was told that I need to send a true copy of my French leaving cert translated in English to the CAO. What's the procedure to get your certs translated?

    theres a couple of translation agencies which can do this.... if you want I can give you contact details of one of them - which I know.

    I think if you go to the French Embassy and get them to translate it into English and certify this it is accepted as a true copy. Better check that the CAO accept this before you do it though.

    i think they might be stricter now, but I just translated mine myself and got my bi-lingual lecturer to stamp it with the college stamp...
    The CAO accepted that version.

    The only problem I had then was, that the college that I wanted to go to, didn't accept me. When I rang them why, they said that they didn't get a chance to convert my leaving cert result to the irish numbering system, so they didn't know if I was a good or a bad student ;-)
    For four weeks, I rang them twice a day to see if they got any further with the conversion of the numbering system, and after four weeks they caved in and gave me a place in my course anyway ;-)

    Sometimes it helps to be persistant!!

    My gf is Estonian and had to get some stuff translated lately, I'll find out and post back later.

    ****, I'm running out of time to get them translated, I already applied and I have one week from the day I apply to send all documents, and I couldn't find anyone yet to translate, everytime I go somewhere or ask someone they give me someone else's number.

    What if I just send the untranslated thing?

    They will send it back to you if you send it untranslated.

    These are the people my girlfriend used.

    They'd send it back, but would it void and cancel my whole registration? Cause that still could be a way to get more time then hehe ;)
