Macbook power problem

My white macbook started acting up tonight. Any time I unplug the power chord it turns off. At the moment it's showing 99% power but if I plug out the power cable it'll shut down.

Anyone experienced this problem or know what's up?
Is it the battery? If I get a replacement battery should it be ok?

The battery is gone, take out the battery and plug the computer in to the mains and it works yeah? Is it under warranty?

Yup, just took out the battery and it works fine plugged into the mains.

It's 2-3 years old so not under warranty. Balls. What shops would sell replacement batteries?
