It seems to be a bit of a theme with me recently after the white hare I saw last week. Saw a completely white deer, a young female, out on a walk in the today. I won't say where it was, since I wouldn't be surprised if something like that would be considered to be a prize to the hunters, however if anyone with a bona-fide reason wants to PM me I can let them know where it was if they're interested.

Excellent, I love seeing unusual things in nature, I'd agree about not posting the location but I'd also be careful of who any pm's are from, you know yourself there are always people who'd be only too happy to kill it.

First the hare now this, you'll have to try and see if you can make three in row:)

Yes, I know ... but I think by now I've got a bit of an idea of who around here works in the field of Wildlife Conservation and the like, so I'll be very careful, believe me.

Congrats on seeing her, she's almost 4 now and had a calf last year which was normal color. I've been watching her since she was a calf and I am always delighted when i see her. Keep the location to yourself, her eyesight is bad and she would be easily shot, she lives with a big group and is always the last one into cover, she doesn't move around much. She is the only one alive that i know of in the area, there was a white male calf born not far from her two years before she was born but he never made it through the first winter.
Here's a pic of her for those that doubt you :)

Great shot John! I unfortunately didn't have my camera with me yesterday.

It's interesting what you say about her eyesight not being too good, that's quite common in albinos, I understand. Also when I first spotted her she was the only one of the herd sheltering under a tree, and the sun was out quite strongly yesterday. I know that all white cats, for example, are very sensitive to the sun and can get tumours in their ears if they get too much exposure. Maybe she knew that and was sheltering for that reason.
