I bought this a few months ago from Laptopsdirect, Its got a 10.1 inch screen so its a lot better for browsing the web and what not than the 9 inch ones, it's black and looks cool, it's whisper quiet, it's got a intel atom 1.6 ghz and I have to say I'm very impressed with it, it actually boots way way faster than my quad core vista PC lol, 60 gig hd is plenty too
I got the ram upgraded to 2 gigs when I bought it, it's running XP,
All I use it for is web browsing and watching divx/xvid movies and for that it's brilliant, absolutely nothing wrong with this machine, it's the best laptop I've owned and i've gone through a lot of them

the size is great too. it's so light, very easy to use in bed
I highly recommend an MSI Wind, they are brill !

What an odd thread. I would agree though, it's a great bit of kit. It's let down by it's battery life though, i get about 2 hours out of mine:(. Although i did just order a 6 cell battery off dealextreme, so i'll see how that goes.
If i was recommending a netbook to anyone i'd tell them to get a samsung nc10. Same spec as the msi, but better battery life. Granted the msi wind has the ability to overclock (i quite like that bit) and imo it has a better trackpad.

typing this on a asus eee (can barely remember the model number or exactly when i bought it) 10inch, 80gb, 1gb ram, xp 1.6ghz atom and the 6 cell battery. fantastic purchase do a good bit of flying and its great for travelling.

Friend of mine showed me a samsung nc10 she had just purchased there yesterday looks like a nice piece of kit also.

I bought a pattern 6 cell extended battery for my 901 and it lasted about 6 months.

I would be cautious about purchasing non genuine accessories for any of these models on Ebay.

Not the only thing, the spurious DC Car adapter for the same laptop from the same supplier is also binned.

The Battery that comes standard with the 901 is good enough, 4 hours usual. Presume the wind is the same, both run on 1.6 Atom chipsets and use XP, If im using the 3 mobile pendrive battery power drains quicker, (Ever feel the heat off these things?)

i'm getting about 7.5hours from my samsung nc10 battery, it is great and so much lighter than my 15.4inch screen acer laptop.

hint: take the battery out when it is charged up when using the power cable and your battery will last longer.
