I've a budget of about 4,000 to spend on a used car. Currently driving a micra..... (not mine by the way). Looking to buy a car with max price of 4,000. Considering a focus or a corolla. Any suggestions on other old cars that are reliable? Last time i bought a car I got suckered into buying a banger. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you're susceptible to buying bangers, it might be a good idea to get an AA engineers report done on the car before you buy it.

The focus and corolla are both very good cars with excellant reliability (the corolla more-so than the focus) but that's not to say a lemon would be passed onto you.

Hmm 4 grand to spend, here is a thread with a bargain the falls right into your price range:)

A small step up from a micra granted but a superb car and a very fair price!
