Hi, just wondering can anyone shed any light or even a fix for the the following problem.

Just tried watching Gommorah on BR and it stopped 30 mins in and wouldnt even eject the disk. Reset and tried again and same thing happened. Thought it was the laser problem, but tried a few games (Uncharted / Virtua Tennis / MLB 08) and they work fine.

Tried searching around the web, and have found nothing of use. PS3 is a year and half old.

Wondering about a format and trying that? Anyone else experience this issue??
    Cheers

Sounds like a faulty BR movie to me. Other BR media (games) read and play fine.

Formatting the hard drive won't fix a faulty blu ray drive. Same thing happened to me, I sent it back to sony and got a refurbished ps3 back. Cost me €250.

and it actually worked. Movie played fine!
Cheers for the replies. Will see what happens tomorrow, off to bed now.

Formats don't fix a faulty drive but they may help if the drive ISN'T faulty to begin with.

Heard of lots of stories of people's ps3s playing discs again after a format.

EDIT: That article is very useful looking by the way.

    250 for a refurbished PS3?Did you get a warranty?

You would of nearly been better off selling it and buying a new one...unless it was a 60gb

Same thing happened again today after doing what that article said to do. Then tried the same BR on a stand alone player and similar carry on. So more than likely a dodgy BR. Currently doing the long restore, will see what happens then.
