Aer Arann and Baggage

    Hi guys,

I'm considering flying with Aer Arann from Dublin in July when I return from a few weeks of travelling in the USA.

Basically I'm flying from Houston to NYC to Dublin with JetBlue and then Aer Lingus to Dublin but I'm from Cork and it's a choice of either the Aircoach back to Cork or Aer Arann.

Seeing as Aer Arann have a sale on right now I'm looking at their prices and €26 one way Dub - Cork is good but I'll more than likely have two check-in bags.

I know I'm allowed one check-in bag of 15kg or under but what is the cost of a second bag? Would it be prohibitive???

I think aer arann only allow one bag up to a max of 32Kg. Each Kg over the 15 is €8

Thanks for that guys...website doesn't really state too much about what you've gotta do if you've an extra bag with you and whether you can pay a fee (€8 as Davy said) or if you must pay for an extra bag per kg as if it was over your allowance if you get me...

Might look into the train alright Kol but it'd be handy to get from the airport back to Cork without going through Dublin traffic and stuff as I'd say we'll be quite tired after our journey.

Fabio, you allowed any number of bags up to 15kg on Aer Arann,it can be more than one, and in the case of passengers like yourself who come into DUB on connecting flights with higher allowance, once you have a copy of the itineary of your previous flight and stating the baggage allowance on the connecting flights, as far as I know the excess baggage fees are waived. ie if jet blue/aer lingus have a 32kg limit, Arann will also respect that limit in order to get the business from passengers like yourself.

Just to be on the safe side, you might want to double check with their reservations number, 0818 210 210,its a normal rate number and you rarely are put on hold and are usually very helpful with queries like that.
