Strange Roadsign

    Howdy,

Saw one of these months ago but never remember to take a picture - does anyone know what this road sign means? I looked in the NRA's Traffic Sign Manual before and it doesn't appear in it.

Is is 'Warning, Cyclists!', similar to the deer signs? Careful, cyclists may be grazing nearby? Or is it warning cyclists to do something?

Crazy cyclists ahead. Try to overtake with no use of steering wheel. Bonus points for hitting something without realizing that.

I'd think the reason comes down to something like there was an accident nearby and something had to be done because someone asked their local councillor about it. It was cheaper to put up a sign than rebuild the road to be safer.

See this one often enough too.

I'm nearly sure it means "Parents, if you're out walking with your small children, beware of Phantom cyclist passing overhead" :)

My favourite sign is as you take the roundabout out of Citywest toward Kingswood.
A sign on the grass warns passing cyclists/cars etc to be careful, "Swans Crossing".

    Havent seen any yet.

Not really strange or weird, but the East Link Bridge has signs asking cyclists to dismount and walk across. The signs are actually located on the opposite side of the road in whichever direction you approach.

Which explains why I've never seen them.
