Centre Maynooth are charging €4.40 for a hot chicken roll with cheese...

The price on the wall said €4.05 but €4.40 was the "new price"

This is hardly justified is it?

Ya I did. Probably should have left it on the counter; it's the only way shops like this will learn.

    Even €4.05 is fairly steep.

    €3.00 - €3.50 is a bit more like it

Good. You seen a sh!te price and you opted not to buy the product. Why don't more people do this instead of coming here complaining afterwards that they just got bent over the freezer and taken up the... ?

Just go to the checkout, tell them that it should be €4.05 and that you won't pay €4.40.

You don't have to buy it, you can leave it there - and they won't be able to sell it anyway (who would buy a pre-made roll that was obviously someone elses?).

If you do that I'm willing to bet they give it to you for the other price. Then next time just either pay the new price, or don't go there again.

I really doubt it tbh, some floor staff will probably find it and throw it in the bin. Hardly gonna write to the owner and tell them someone wasn't willing to pay for their roll! But it is a rip-off.

On a related note, a friend got a kebab the other day and asked for a bit of cheese....90c extra

Did the sign say Hot chicken roll for €4.05 or Hot chicken roll with cheese for €4.05? This is important as some deli counters treat cheese as an extra main.

Count yourselves lucky, my local super valu and ex employer charge €4.99 for a large hot chicken roll, absolute daylight robbery- I wouldn't buy it!!!

Remember back around 2003/04 a hot chicken roll cost 3.50 and I thought it was a lot! Fcukers in my class at school getting between 5 and 7 euro a day for their lunches to spend on delicious dirt like that, spoilt brats!! Ah well, at least they're all slapped right back to the old, more natural Irish way of life of not getting what they want.

You should have bounced the roll of the owners head comically sending chicken everywhere.
