So joe got his leg broke and will be off the airwaves for quite a while. It really is a good friday! Get well soon and all that, but dont be in any rush back. I'm sure Adrian kennedy can accomodate some of the moaners while you're away.

He broke his leg so he cant do his show, which consists of him sitting on a chair and talking to people....

Never listen to him anyway, but was wondering why a broken leg would keep him out of work for any lenght of time? Its not as if he does alot of walking in his line of work.

  • Subscribers Posts: 16,617 ✭✭✭✭copacetic

Well he is in hospital having an operation on the leg and won't be out until late next week, so that is probably why?

Yes, but he talks through his arse, so the cast is getting in the way.

No doubt he'll be back soon, accepting phonecalls from people complaining about the lack of complaining there was while he was off

I think Derek Mooney didn't do his radio show when he broke his leg either.

Any time I've dealt with a middle aged moany bitch customer who informs me that 'I'll be talking to JOE!!!" I always answer "Joe who?".

Usually shocks them. "He's on the radio...do you not LISTEN to his SHOW???".

No thanks sweetcheeks, I've better things to do than sit in my kitchen, sipping my tea and shaking my head over the price of cabbage!

I get that alot also. My answer is usually "Unless Joe Duffy is a qualified broadband technician then there is nothing he can do for you."

Tells us all we need to know as to why Ireland is in the situation it is in.

Lets see how the people who have attitudes like that handle a recession when they won't get good money for so called skills.

Might learn to appreciate things better.

Ah Joe is a harmless oul schkin, at least he does not try get his big RTE mallet head on the TV at every available opportunity (or maybe its designed that way).

Pat Kenny getting a few flakes of a Car, now that would make for a good Friday.

I suppose someone had to throw in something about the recession

And as for your patronising remark about "so called skills", I only worked in retail while I was in college, and would do so again if I could not find another job. And don't worry, I will kiss the feet of every customer who walks in the door, moany middle aged bitch or not.

Mooney broke his arm after falling off a 'chair' while 'swatting a fly' in a 'hotel room' in Amsterdam

Ah Joe is a harmless oul schkin....
... in the same way Hitler was a misunderstood oul schkin.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    "Sir?" I'm actually a woman.

And when they act like a middle aged moany bitch, I will refer to them as one- just because the country is in a "ZOMG! Recession!" doesn't mean customers are entitled to be abusive to staff, or look for 50 euro of groceries for free because they forgot their wallet, or scream blue murder because our normally 24 hour store was going to be closed on Christmas Day (reasons why customers have promised they will "talk to Joe" in the past).

I'm going to agree with bigpink here. I've already made it clear my views on people that threaten you with "The Joe." i ****ing despise them. Note, i do not dislike Joe himself, i have no view on him, good bad or indifferent.
But it usually is assbeans that scream and holler "OMG, Joe will hear of this!" I don't really care, your still not allowed to pay for your groceries with a library card. (Which i witnessed and overheard.)

What's with all the Hitler comparisons lately?
There are only 12 million Jews left.
At this rate, they will no longer exist by 2115.
There seem to quite a lot of Hitler-esque people out there.

Give it 20 years, FB. She'll be middle aged too then.

If I dont like something on the radio, I change it, or switch it off... the same with the tele, and the same with Youtube... I dont sit there saying to myself..'Oh I hate Joe Duffy'...or 'I hate Pat Kenny'... I pick up the phone, call a cab, switch off the tele and Im on the high stools 15 minutes later :pac:

I saw the story was featured on the front page of one of the tabloids today. I thought he was fighting for his life and was guaranteed to lose at least a leg when I read about the "horror crushing"

So he's only got a broken leg? Oh....

In fairness, if you had a green and purple striped fly with the face of a cartoon Margaret Thatcher swooping around your head, singing "Wanna be in my gang, my gang, my gang" over and over again while the orange elephant at the corner of the table kept spilling the weed because he was watching the fly go round and round, you'd get a chair and a swat out quicksmart too!

As soon as I heard it was due to a parking accident I guessed straight away that the driver was a woman - sure enough it was Pyjammas girl.

I think we had a female mod on duty last night because I posted something similar last night and my post disappeared. The truth hurts!! :D

Mine was to the the effect of.....

What kind of dozy pillock is Joe with zero situational awareness that he stayed at the open boot of his car while a womon driver was trying to parallel park in the next space. Any normal man would have moved to a safe distance to observe with his hand over his mouth to hide the smile while utter the words, "FFS woman, you could park a lorry in there!"

As soon as Joe is back on air I am going to ring in and say, "Joe, I'm a parent.......whats the story with bloody women drivers parking" :D

    Yeeeessssss.

Poor Joe was hit by a car while returning his library books, in a library car park. Beside a library.

If I was the driver, I would just end it all now. How unlucky can you get?

    P.S. A library..?
