I am organising a weekend golf society weekend, when I say society it is a bunch of hackers happy to get away from the missus once a year. We are playing 2 games in Seafield

Anyway I am looking for ideas for prize categories.

I'm thinking Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin both days.
Best Front 9 and Back 9 Both Days
    And an over all winner.

If anyone has any good ideas to the layout or prizes, I only have about €250 for all the prizes. I was thinking of a nice trophy for the winner who gives it back the next year.

We have a family golf society and I got a perpetual prize for it.

generally stableford is the best way to go if you want individual prizes. People get points for holes that they score on and you can set handicaps based on peoples club handicap or how good they are. If someone is pretty ok you could give them 18 but if they are poor you could increase it up to 24.

If you want advice on how to calculate the points please post back.

Another option would be a scramble in which groups play as teams. In this everyone plays a shot but they all play from the location of the best position of any of the players in the team. This is handy if some of the players are really really crap and is also good fun.

Seeing that they are not regular players you could play a scramble the first day and the stableford individual competition the second day.
