Part Time Work

i recently started part time work in a shop (3 days a week).
went up to the dole office on Monday and informed them, they gave me a form for me and my employer to fill out and those X's & O's sheets. The women told me my job seekers benefit would be frozen till i brought this form back. so i went to my employer straight away and brought back the form within 40 mins. And i said the the women about will my dole be unfrozen and she said yes.
Went to collect my dole on Tues and the lady in the post office said it says it frozen so went up the dole office and they said the part time dole isnt processed till a friday and the cheques are available on the tuesday and i wont be getting any money this week.

My question is will i get back paid for not getting my dole this week next week and do i collect the cheque in the dole office or how does that work she never said.

    thanks all

Yes, you will be back payed from the date you made your claim....if approved.

But don't go expecting your claim to be sorted in the first week. It's possible but unlikely.
Even in boom time when I signed on in 2004 it took nine weeks, it can be at least that now.
I'd be suprised if you collect your payment next week in the SW office. But ask them on Monday, they'll tell you were to go.

And get there early to avoid queues!
But going by post your claim seems fine, ask on Monday, hopefully collect on Tuesday

i should have pointed out im already on job seekers benefit since mid january, so its just a matter of them working out how much i get with my part time job.

Casual employment payments are by cheque which are issued on Fridays and posted to your home address, usually arriving on Tuesday. Provided you brought back all the forms filled out by your employer, and left your dockets in on time, it is possible you should get your payment next week, and it should include all arrears due to you.

if you are working 3 days per week its just a case of them halving your current payment.
