Could anyone recommend an IR repeater / distributor that would work with the UPC / Thompson box. I'm looking to put my dvd / upc boxes out of sight but heard that the UPC boxes aren't too compatible.

    Thanks!

(Hope this is the right forum)

Any wireless unit should work for this purpose...where are you proposing hiding them?

Cheers Steveon, just going to stick them all into a cabinet near the tv so not too far away. Was looking at something like this:

Some UPC boxes use IRDA. Most remotes use slower 40kHz approx modulation of the IR, as if an old ultrasonic remoted driving IR LED. Some philips Video Senders work with regular IR remote or IRDA.

I don't know which the PVR uses.

Most remote extenders and Video senders do not support IRDA.
