Using both ports on a PAP2

    Hello,

I have a linksys pap2. It's working fine, as is Blueface for serveral months now.

I hooked up the PAP2 enabled blueface port / jack to my old PSTN circuit within the house, one of the phones is a siemens digital cordless. The phones work ok, but due to the crappy copper wire network, noise is introduced.

Now when I plug the cordless in directly to the jack, it's crystal.

However, for various reasons I do want the other phones to work, even a bit noisy but would like the cordless to work too, but perfect.

After trying various combinations, the only one that works is:

Enable the second jack on the PAP2 (identical to the first in settings).
Plug the cordless cordless in to one jack and the circuit in to another. That way - cordless perfect, circuit works too (albeit not great).

All good so far, I can diall out on any phone.

However, when the I ring the house only one or other jack will ring (and associated phone(s)).

Is there a way to link the two jacks so that they behave as one?

As I say, this isn't a blueface issue at all, just me trying to reuse the old copper, but any help would be brill.

Each phone port on the PAP2T is for a seperate SIP account, so make another SIP account in the Blueface PBX (toolbox) and enter the username and pass etc in the settings for the second port. Once that's done, add the second SIP account in the Forwards section(in toolbox too) in the second normal forward field. Otherwise you can get a splitter and put it into one of the ports in the PAP2T.

Thanks, that worked - added a second SIP and then forwarded the PSTN number to both accounts. Great idea

(Had tried the splitter before but that introduced noise on all phones).
