Boxing nicknames are great some numerous, some good, some bad, some funny, some puzzlesome, some just weird!

MOST - Our own Jimmy McLarnin had a lot, Baby Faced Assasin, Beltin' Celt, Dublin Dynamiter, Dublin Destroyer, Murderous Mick, The Belfast Spider, The Jew Killer, The Jew Beater, Hebrew Scourge and The Irish Lullaby to name but a few of the most popular.

BEST - Juan "Hispanic Causing Panic" Lazcano, James "Lights Out" Toney, "Iron" Mike Tyson, James "Bonecrusher" Smith - I got more but will give others a chance!

WORST - DaVarryl "Touch of Sleep" Williamson, Darnell "Ding-A-Ling Man" Wilson, "The White Tyson" Ruslan Chagaev

FUNNY - Sam "Boston Tar Baby" Langford, "The Scotch Wop" Johnny Dundee, Ray "Boom Boom'' Mancini, Jim "The Pink Panther" Rock

PUZZLESOME - "the Orchid Man" Georges Carpentier, Andrew "6 Heads" Lewis

"Scrap Iron" Ryan was a funny one.

I always said if I get in the ring as a pro i want to be called.........."The Ghost with 2 hammers" :D class or wha...........meself and me bro had a book of boxers nicknames years ago and for some reason we always thought jimmy wilde had this nickname but in fact he was known as "The ghost with a hammer in his hand".

My mates use to call me "the bonecrusher"...........sarcasticly because i was a light fly weight........and when down at me weight i would be........well.......boney :D

I always liked O'Neill "Give Em Hell" Bell. I don't know why...

One I just came across, "Much Too Much" Marvin Cordova Jr

EDIT: Apollo Creed's other nicknames were "The King of Sting" and "The Master of Disaster". Monte Fisto was just genius.

'El Travieso' was one I always liked, it belongs to Jorge Arce and basically transalyes to 'little terror'.

Erik 'El Terrible' Morales is another one, gives you the impression of Erik 'The Terrible' a name like fearsome Viking leaders used to possess.

Manos De Piedra(Hands of Stone) has already been mentioned along with many other good ones.

One brilliant one that I'm not sure most people will remember(but they'll remember the fighter) is Ben 'Wonder' Tackie.

Yeah, I like ones that people play with the second name - none spring to mind because its early!

My old brothers used to do this one called himself - "Both Barrells" and the other had "4U" at the end of his name - some of ye know my second name and will get it.

I also forgot to add Jose Napoles - "Mantequilla" (sp?) meaning Butter - classy!

Forgot about Owen 'What the Heck' Beck

A pretty apt nickname, what the heck was he doing fighting for a title after 2 losses in his last 3 fights. The win was over a Cruiserweight aswell.
