Was in suburb manchester on wednesday in rented car . got a parking ticket at 8.09am- went down to put a ticket on car at 8.30 but was too late. i know its only 25 sterling but was just wondering what would be the worst that could happen if i did not pay it. i will probably pay it but was just wondering.

From a similar thread over on Motors, what'd probably happen is the fine will be sent to the rental company. They in turn will either

    (a) Send it on to you using the records they have for you
    (b) Charge it to your credit card
    (c) Pay it themselves

For the sake of 25 quid though, I'd just pay it - at least it's not €80/90 AND having to get a clamp removed.

b is the most likely as most people pay by credit card...
