I have been receiving jobseekers benefit for the last three months and I have been offered a few weeks work. I was wondering what the procedure for this.
I have spent an hour trying to ring the welfare office today without reply.

Is this just a case of letting the welfare ofice know that i'm working for a few weeks.
Also If i sign off for a short period, do I have to go through the hassle of applying all over again.
Also my signing date falls during this time, will i have to take a day off of work to go and sign.

    Thanks in advance

"If you are getting Jobseeker's Benefit and offered temporary work for at least 4 days each week your Jobseeker's payment will stop. If you are unemployed for a second time within 26 weeks your application for Jobseeker's Benefit is not treated as a new claim.

    Example
Susan is unemployed and getting Jobseeker's Benefit for 8 months. She has 260 paid PRSI contributions, which means she can get Jobseeker's Benefit for a maximum of 12 months. She was offered 2 months temporary work in a factory. When her 2 months work ends she is entitled to claim Jobseeker's Benefit for another 4 months.

However, if you have used up your entitlement to Jobseeker's Benefit, you may re-qualify by working and paying the appropriate PRSI contributions for at least 13 weeks"

So once it's less than 6 months it's the same claim... I think it may be a bit of hassle if it's only for a week or 2... think you may have to wait weeks to start getting money again :o but I'm NOT SURE.
