Philip Deignan is in the break in Pays Basque.
How great is it to be watching top level cycling again with Irish riders with a chance of winning. It's like the good old days.:)

Attack by Vandevelde, Albasini and Vandenbroeke chase , Deignan dropped on climb. 35.7k to go.

Deignan 12 secs down on trio at bottom of descent.

Does Vandevelde have it in for Irish riders or something? Last time I saw an Irish guy in a break was Nicolas Roche in Paris-Nice. Attack by Vandevelde put paid to Roche's chances that day too.
