    Because there won't be any drunken skobes and posh boy arseholes on the streets stabbing each other or kicking each other to death

    Yes, all Fridays are good, to the extent that it's the start of the weekend.

    This one is particularly good as some of us don't have to work!

    I've always called it "Dry Friday".....

    Why? Just buy the drink tonight and you're sorted.

    Well I had a wiki tab open, so here's a link.

    Note the lack of a mention of alcohol.

    Someone clarify this for me without resorting to religion.

    Sure, then after that we can explain why it's called Easter Sunday without resorting to religion either...

    It is called Easter Sunday after the Easter Bunny. Who gives us chocolate. I don't think the worshipping of the Easter Bunny as a religous icon exists......or is that Scientology?

    It's just 'This Friday' to me.

    As in: "What are you doing this Friday?"

    Ask anyone who works in a bar.

    Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    I've always wondered what exactly happens on Good Friday regarding pubs/clubs but never found out, do some open at 12am on Saturday morning?

    Some clubs do.
    You'll also find pubs in small towns which open the back door for regulars.

    Somebody asked why it's called 'Easter Sunday....here's something interesting. With the birth of Christianity, the church tried to wipe out pagan practices by pasting their religious festivals over the pagan ones. Imbolc became St Brigid's Day, Samhain became the feast of All Souls, the winter solstice became Christmas and the Spring Equinox became Easter.

    Easter eggs are a mixture of both pagan and Christian tradition. Spring is the season in which birds and animals mostly give birth so the egg symbolizes that as well as Christ's rebirth. I don't know exactly where the word 'Easter' comes from but I hope this is of help. Don't know why it's called Good Friday either...think it's because we're all supposed to meditate on the Good thing Christ did for us all by dying on the cross? (No, I'm not a religious nut but I am a Catholic so that's my take on it.)

    Jen ;->
