Lobbying TD's worthwhile?

I feel very strongly that as part of the overall bank bailout scheme, lending institutions should be compelled to relax their penal rules regarding breaking out of fixed rate mortgages. I've never called into a TD's 'clinic', just wondering would such a visit be a total waste of time?
