Ok I keep getting a message saying display driver stopped working and the screen goes black for around 5 seconds and comes back fine... sometimes the screen gets really pixelated and just stays like that so I've to turn off laptop using power button...

    any suggestions??

    Its a dell xps m1330...

First thing I would do is to update the driver from the ATI or nVidia site not the dell site as on rare occasions the Dell site can be a version behind

thanks... actually got it sorted... was a known issue with the xps - something to do with graphics card - dell came out and changed card and motherboard yest FOC even though its out of warranty!

If they fixed it out of warranty then I'm guessing it was the infamous NVIDIA "bad bumps" fault.
