    I know this may sound sorta trivial on a forum like this, but all I can afford at the moment is a little mini hifi for about €120ish, tbh the cheaper the better.

    I'm considering just getting speakers on their own, I'll mostly be plugging in an ipod.

    I would like decent enough sound quality... but I dunno whether it's really possible for this kinda money...

    Any advice?

    look in to the ipod docks for 120 to 150 euro ya should get a good set

    Your question isn't trivial at all, everyone has a budget :)

    You could try asking what you can get for you money from Richer Sounds, Belfast. Have a read about what others say about them - the concensus is great pricing, service and delivery.
