Passat TDI 06 - Noise

    Guys I hope this is not the DMF/Clutch but I'm getting a funny feeling... The car is starting to make a bit of noise once in gear. Its not a screeching noise but more of a knocking sound. It hopped out of 4th gear on the way home this evening. The clutch os not going to the floor but certainly the car is not smooth through the gears. If I rev the car in neutral there's a screeching sound.

    It does sound like the DMF... Ching ching, you're looking at around 1,200-1,500 Euro to get it done properly if it is...

    It does sound like the DMF(get it checked out with your mechanic first though), only had mine replaced a few weeks ago on my 05 Passat 2.0 TDi, good news is these guys did mine for €660 in belfast:

    Yeah thought as much. Would have been aware of that but thought I escaped it. Thankfully I will be able to have it done by V dub mechanic for less than your €660 but that is half the price of a garage this side of the border. They still haven't copped on
