Im in my final year of the BEd and due to the lack of jobs am windering whether I should apply to junior schools as well as national schools? I've been told you can't do your Dip there, but would it be better to work steadily in a junior school for a year or sub in various national schools? i've had very mixed responses from the teachers I've asked. Thanks...

I may have a false impression but I believe that many private schools (particularly the less well known ones) are (EVEN!) harder to work for than the mainly public ones. They sometimes pay LESS than Public schools and dont hesitate to let people go who are less than stellar in performance. A young teacher having discipline problems wouldnt stand a chance in many of these places. Not a good place to start your career perhaps?
Of course if anyone has contrary opinions perhaps they would post ...
