What could have been a great opportunity for interested students or alumni to listen in on the election results as they happen etc. etc. turned into bulletins mixed into the "best" of the afternoon show...

Well done DCUfm, another great opportunity wasted...

In fairness, we did have lengthy bulletins every 20 minutes. We got interviews from everyone who is elected and were there fairly late. I think people need to realise that DCUFM are students too. We have lectures, and lives outside the radio station. It's hard to stay up doing bulletins when you've a 9am seminar class which basically counts for 50% of your module.
I felt we did a fine job, even if I made a balls of the midnight bulletin.

You say you made a balls of the midnight bulletin but I want to know what one person was laughing at in a later bulletin that pretty much brought the bulletin to a halt. I tuned in to hear how the election going and not to hear somebody laughing so hard at a private joke that he has to be rescued by another presenter after a good five minutes. The bulletins were based mostly around the clubs and socs awards and in fairness if they had not been on last night, there would have absolutely no reason for you guys to bother your little heads about staying in the studio that late.
I understand that nobody wants to do the graveyard shift but dear god, it was the SU election, did ye even ask other presenters of they wanted to cover it.
What kind of station also makes a big shout out to their one listener (me obviously) before telling them to tune out that they were going home. Self-depreciation?

Said person was laughing because he is human. You know when you shouldn't laugh, but do anyway? Yeah, that's what happened. It is the first time that it has happened to the person, and the person feels that it is entirely human to make a balls of something. I'm sure you have too.

Look, it wasn't a question of "who wants to do the graveyard shift?". It was a few people involved in the station (two of whom are not presenters and were drafted in at the last minute) who volunteered their night and morning, even before a 9am lecture. We aren't professionals, we were all first years. I apologise if we ruined your night, but get real. We aren't professionals, we are human. We get giddy too.
If you feel you could do a better job, get on board.

    DCU FM does not rock.

It's getting considerably better and fair play to everyone involved.

But it's very far from rocking :P be fair.
