Anyone driving to the race in Brittas Thursday (Orwell/Tiernans/Stagg/Usher/UCD League) that could give me a lift? I would cycle but have injured my leg and while I am commuting on the bike think it might not be wise to push it (I am marshalling, not racing :))

Lucky you, landing marshalling duty while injured. What did you do to yourself?

Yes, it was a fortuitous time to do it. Basically did the same as you did in the club league opener, took a corner badly and the bike washed out to the side- only I was popping down the shops to get Cornflakes and you were in a race :)

No, more swelling around the knee :) Knee sort of feels like something is moving up and down in front of the kneecap as I pedal, maybe liquid? Calves hurt, in particular on the upstroke (when walking), and twisting the ankle to unclip is painful. Did you just rest or did you get treatment? If it doesn't get better (I reckon I will be off the bike this weekend) I might go to the physio.

I didn't get treatment, but my problem was simply loosing a big patch of skin from my thigh. Definitely the knee sounds like something I'd see someone about.

A small bit of advice, go and see someone, and someone really good ! I had a knee op last year in June, after going to number of Physios from Jan onwards, none of them could diagnose the problem !
Problem was only found after getting an MRI, and with internal knee issues this is usually the case !! I wasted a whole year, and missed all of last season's racing etc ... and am playing catch up bigtime this year !

PM me if you need more details or advice, I would n't like to see anyone make the same mistakes I did ! and not get something sorted properly as soon as you could !!

    Biker Joe.
