Have just received the following email, the sender is listed as a "DrNo"

    Dear applicant,

We recently received your application for a driving test but are unable to process it further as we do not have your driver number. Your driver number is a unique identifier which stays with you throughout your driving career. As a consequence of the RSA upgrading to a more sophisticated application management system, we can no longer process applications without this information. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Your driver number is located opposite Item 5 on your driving licence, see below.

Please reply to this email giving us your name, date of birth and driver number and we will be happy to schedule driving test for you without delay. If you wish to provide the number via telephone, please call 1890 406040 with your name, date of birth and driver number.

    Thanks and regards,

    Driver Testing Section
    Road Safety Authority

    Is this kosher?

    Thanks

I'd say so, they wouldnt give a lo call number if it was a hoax, also looking at the drivingtest.ie website the application procedure seems to have changed and you do need your driver number, used to be your pps in the past

Just in case, rather than replying, use the number and ring them.

Seems all ok, That lo call number is their real one, so nothing to worry about there, and like Nuttzz said, they need your driving number now.

When i read the heading I was think who would have the last name No (Dr. No)

Someone probably set up an email address for this purpose, and thought it would be great craic to have Driver Number abbreviated to 'Dr No'

Its real id say! Log onto the driving test website, itll show you that you cant now book a test without your driver number, to be sure ring them however!

At least somebody in the RSA has a sense of humour. It's a bog standard (probably automated) email sent to anyone who applies with no DrNo.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

I'd still say ring them. If it is a hoax, they'd put in the number to look legit.

No, I'd say this is not a scam. The OP doesn't say if he forgot to include his DrNo with his application, I'm assuming he did. But to be on the safe side I'd ring them with it, not email.
