My contract is about to end on May 14th and there is no hope of it being extended.

I will have to sign on the JSA/JSB but the thing is I have a holiday booked for May 17th to New Zealand for three weeks.

If I sign on on May 14th and go on holiday from May 17th - does anyone know how this will affect my JSA/JSB application etc.

    Anyone got any info

    Thanks.

You're allowed to take a two week holiday while on a Jobseeker's payment. In another thread someone said that if you go for longer than that, you simply don't get paid for the extra weeks.

So, I'd sign on, explain the situation, take the holiday and you'll probably only get paid for 2 out of the 3 weeks you're going on holiday but if the information in the other thread is correct it's better than getting paid for 0 of the 3 weeks if you wait until you return to claim.
