I remember two gardai being slagged for arriving in a Fiesta. Two of them were about 6"5. If they arrived in that smart car, LOL!!

As for the CL, i've a picture of a Italian Gallardo policia car.

That car probably has carbon ceramic brakes and can stop a lot faster than your usual run of the mill family car.

I think for our 'law enforcement officers' 2.0 Mondeo's are fast enough considering they don't know how to turn on their lights when proceeding well above the speed limit - I'm not even talking about flashing lights just headlights. Any point in telling them h/lights should be on at ALL times?

Can you imagine them in something that's actually powerful....................

Lol, I heard a siron coming up behind me the other day. I was sitting at lights, four lanes, two either side. A big square inbetween the too lights for cars coming from both right and left (Crescent shopping centre). This garda Mondeo comes flying down the wrong side, then has to make an abrupt swerve onto the right lane (as there were cars stopped at the lights as well.) I swear, he drifted/handbraked/made the back wheel lift he was going so fast... Crappy Mondeo just about copped with the task, lol.

    Edit: Pic

They have new LP560's now but as far as I know, they're only used for transporting organs/emergency medical transport and patrol duty on motorways.

    and sure what about this

    :D

Being fair to the Mondeo it's a darn good car overall and ideal for police duties most of the time, it's the standard of driving that worries me and more so if you gave our boys in blue a really high powered motor. I can see the headlines now..............................

There is a 00 Garda Punto in west clare that I saw chasing a Honda Civic one day. When I say chasing, the Civic flew past me, and 5 mins later the Punto came along with it's sirens on. LOL:D

    Ah, found it.

In the city of Rotterdam we heard this one coming from far:

Those things made you want to join the police when you are a kid ....

Yeah, I remember having a model of that police 911 Targa in the very early 70's, no doubt quick in its day.

Also while working in Germany in the early 80's my work mate swore he saw a police 308GTB on the autobhan near Stuttgart seemly I just missed it. I still wonder to this day if he was mistaken?
