hi guys, ive a few questions i hope somebody can help me with

1st the background info on me

im in limerick, i lost my job august last, im 28, and have had to move back to my parents due to the fact i cant afford not to

been looking since i lost my job, but no luck so far getting a job

    so can i ask

    1. how long will my jobseekers benefit last?

    2. when it is up what happens then? some friends have said that i get means tested, and since im now living with my parents, that i could end up getting 30euros a week as a result (by the way my family are by no means wealthy, my dad has a small job)

    3. is there any office that deals with this sort of stuff that i can go to for more advice? as the only time im at the dole office is to sign on, and as you can imagine it is insanely busy, so anytime i try to ask anything i get shooed away so they can get the lines down

thanks a million in advance for any advice you can offer

wherever you're based now go to your local citizens information office.

i've always found them to be extremely helpful and very knowledgable.

here's a directory of where they are in each county

The length of time jobseekers benefit last depends on your PRSI contributions. The maximum it lasts is 390 days (It can go on longer depending on the circumstances.)
After that you'll have to go on jobseekers allowance, which as you said is means tested. Because you are over 23 your parents income won't be a factor. So unless you've a huge amount of money in the bank you should get the same amount.
