Experiences with laptop repair under warranty, PCWorld

I purchased a Packard Bell Notebook for my wife about 4weeks ago.
I purchased in PCWorld (Galway) and I have the receipt/proof of purchase
and I understand it is covered for 1yr warranty.

It has had very little usage so far but suddenly the LCD backlight appears to have gone. I think it may have started to go about a week ago and managed to correct itself. It has a distinctive hinge to the screen which looks very sturdy but I'm guessing some mechanical issue has caused loss of power to the backlight.

Anyway bottom line - has anyone had experiences with regards to repair times under warranty with PCWorld ? My main concern is how long she will be left without a laptop while it is being repaired (in house ? sent out for repair ?)
