I'm not too sure but do you want to work in Insurance/Finance ? It's a bit different to what you studied in college.

Hi araisaris - they are a very good qualification to have and necessary of you are going to be advising customers of a financial institution - only difficulty is that it will be a long while before financial services company in Ireland is likely to be recruiting. Most are looking to shed staff at the moment, so not a great industry to try and break into for the first time.

    Hi,
just wondering if anybody can help with some advice on the QFA exams. I hope to do the QFAs in the near future as I have been made redundant and think thhese exams make sense to have .
I already have a law degree and a higher diploma in Business studies from UCD so wondering what exemptions I would be entitled to if any.
I have looked at the exemptions handbook on the bankers.ie site but seems to talk about the diplomna rather than just the QFA exams. Just wondering if I would be exempt from any modules.

    any help would be appreciated,
    thks,

    Hi,

Might be a bit late in replying here but I've completed 3 of my QFAs and hopefully I'll ahve the m finished by the end of next year.

Just to say I did Commerce at UCD too and you'll get no exemptions. TBH it's pretty different from any of the stuff I did in college.

I did the first two and I found it a bit like the leaving cert , read, remember, regurgitate and forget 90% of the info one week later.
