Job in October - Unable to find work till then

Ok so I finish up college in May and luckily have a job in Oct. If I can't get a job in the intervening months am I entitled to anything? If I even had a part time job for 2 days would I be able to get a top up? Thanks edit: I've worked p/t over the last 8 years (except summers spent travelling) paying prsi etc
