Capital Spending was around €9.6bn in 2008

    Discuss the budget speech.

"Exchequer capital allocation is to be set at €7.3 bn euro for 2009, which is greater than 5% of projected GNP"

    €6.6bn for 2010
    €5.5bn for 2011

Obviously at least €1bn is earmarked to pay for roads that are already under construction in BOTH 2009 and 2010

Road maintenance will be a considerable portion of the rest as will paying for trains and railway projects under construction or trains ordered.

I will say that these sums are higher than I expected but also that they will be under constant downward revision over the next two years .

Does anyone have any idea of how this money will be spent ??

    Backs of envelopes welcome.
