Head Unit? Replacement in the midwest

    Hi All,
Apologies in advance for any terms I get wrong.
I'm fairly new to cycling, but bought this bike
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=14991
    last year.

An annoying rattle in the frame (just above the forks) made me take it to the bike shop in Limerick.
Your man said it was the head unit, but that it's an unusual (bigger than usual size).
He's having a problem getting his supplier(not sure who) to get him a replacement, and suggested if I could find one, he'd fit it.

How do I go about finding the size of unit that I need to replace?
There's no information at all on the beone.com website.

Any suggestions of another expert in Galway/Clare/Limerick region would be gratefully appreciated.

I would get a second opinion but also ask the guy what size it it. I would also ask CRC the spec of the headset.

How long after you got the bike did the problem occur - you may have a case with CRC for them to handle the repair.

I dunno, but there was a thread a few days ago about the same problem. Maybe Novarapid has had some developments on his.

Email CRC, they should be able to tell you, looks like a integrated headset.

i've the same problem. emailed chainreactions and they said send the headset back with the order number for the bike and they may replace it.
    Its very annoying.

Chainreactions said send back everything, but i'm not too confident to take out the star nut from the fork, should i just send back the ballbearings, races and spacers?

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for all the info.
I asked the guy in The Bike Shop, and he wasn't able to give me any size or part no. or anything when I asked.
I bought the bike about 14 months ago now, so I doubt I have any comback.
The bike has seen about 1300 km, I don't know if that makes any difference.
I'll definitely get onto CRC and see if they have any more info.

Maybe I should just have at the unit myself. I really didn't want to break anything by poking around at it. But needs must
    Cheers
