Vista caught in a boot up loop

    Hello,

I have an ACER TravelMate 5720 laptop with Vista Home Premium.
My problem is that when I turn the laptop on, Vista will not start up. I can get to the recovery settings, but they do not seem to do anything. Sometimes I can get it to work by using the option of "disable automatic restart after crash". But as soon as I turn the laptop off, and then on again, the same thing happens - the boot up loop. Also sometimes it will start when I choose "use the last settings.." (sorry, can't quite remember what the correct wording was.)

Has anyone got any suggestions? I do not have a vista cd as the laptop was sold without one (powercity).
