Do I need a special aerial?

    Hi,
Have a Sony w4500. Got an old set of rabbit ears and plugged them into the back of the tv. Tuned it in and got nothing.
So I got a long cable, and walked outside to the front garden (Cabinteely) and rescanned. Got the 8 channels load and clear. Can see 3 rock fron the front garden.
Does DTT need to be line of sight?
Or should I just go buy a decent aerial and it should work from inside?

    Gar

DTT does not need line of sight.

You could try putting your rabbit ears in the attic, see if it gives you anything.

If that doesn't work, using an outdoor wideband or group B UHF aerial in the attic will almost definitely work for you.
    Avoid indoor powered UHF aerials.

    Cheers for that.
Will try the attic, only issue is feeding the cable down
