Need to source some protective gear

    Hi,

Need to source some basic protective gear pretty fast, so was hoping for some recommendations of either brick & mortar stores, or online that'll ship quickly.

I need to get myself a (women's) chest protector (I hate them, but have to have one) and some elbow and knee pads. I'm not that fussed about the elbow and knee pads, tbh. They're probably only going to be worn once every year at most, so the simple elasticated foam pad kind should be fine (except that I've no idea where to get them!). I'm happy to spend a bit of money on a decent chest protector that doesn't wreck my head if such a thing can be found.

    Any ideas?

What type of fighting/sparring are you doing exactly? We used to use skateboarder elbow and knee pads for stickfighting and they did the job fine. We bought them in the likes of Smyths toystores. My wife used a chest protector that had a sports bra holder and light metal cups but she said stick strikes nearly hurt MORE cause of the steel:eek:, but I'd imagine they'ed be fine if it wasn't weapons sparring.

I'm actually buying them with a weapons thing in mind - padded stick fighting. Wouldn't ordinarily wear elbow and knee pads in training, but the comp. rules demand them, so needs must. Likewise with the chest protector, although I see that maybe coming in useful in the future so don't mind spending a wee bit of cash on it.

I'm not sure I like the idea of metal cups, I thought some kind of plastic would do fine.
