Political correctness has overstepped the bounds of what it was meant to protect. Granted there are certain words one should never use, however when I am forced to use euphemisms to describe everyone I meet then the line has been crossed.

Some people have become obsessed with trivial minutiae, while ignoring the major injustices in society ... probably because they haven't the courage to tackle them or even to name them publicly.

Some people have faulty sensors and can't tell the difference between tongue-in-cheek humour and peoples actual values.

On the other hand, you have others who are quick to label any opinion they don't agree with as "politically correct", and to deride and emasculate it on that basis.

Unfortunately, common sense is the ultimate oxymoron ...
