    hi there ,

i hope somebody can help me out , im a bit of a technophobe .

I tried to download a program (smartboard-a teaching tool ) . The download crashed at about 75% . There is no uninstall and every time i try to delete the program i get a message saying :

cannot delete (insert any of the file names here ) Access is denied
make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use .

I am pretty sure the files are not in use as i have brought up the task manager and it all seems clear there and I have closed down all programs while trying to delete . Is there anyway to bypass this so i can clean these files off ?

Any help is much appreciated .

Try this: Restart computer, boot in safe mode (press F8 button when starting up) then find file (s) and delete em, then reboot.

Unlocker is a tool that may be helpful in this sort of situation. It can help you ascertain what, if any, processes have a handle on a file, and it can unlock that handle facilitating deletion. Very useful for USB drives when Windows insists that there is still some program accessing the drive, even if you think there isn't
