    hey guys, im moving into an apartment at the end of the month that has a sky box. my question is can i simply call sky to get a viewing card? there are no active landline in use, but i may not need it to be activated as the box is already installed??

    I don't think sky will allow you to install yourself even thought everything is done. However there is currently no fee for a no phone line connection so I think it would be well worth your while signing up a new contract and paying the €50 for a standard box as the box that may have been left behind could be old and not worth using

    All you have to do is ask Sky for a "second hand contract". When it arrives, complete and return it and you'll receive your viewing card a few days later. Obviously test the Sky Digibox without a card beforehand, after first letting it cool down overnight. This should show up any problems.
