Emma Jane is fancied by connections anyway.

Wouldn't be too keen on the mare at 9/1.

Notre Pere could go well but will be lumping a big weight and I'm not sure how he'll go without a preping run. Nicholls Dear Villez is another horse I rate and its eldom Paul Nicholls sends a horse to Ireland that doesn't finish in the money. However the one I'm very sweet on at a tempting price is Garde Champetre, he should be nicely weighted allied to a very convincing Cheltenham win. Skip Two could go well at a biggish price but I doubt he'll appreciate the ground.

Did Himalayan Trail not fall at the first at Aintree!! lol at the jumping well.. Might have an each way on Casey Jones

Honestly think Royal County Star is a free bet. Can't see him unplaced given the way he travels. Absolute top effort last time under hands and heels ride. He'll do for me at 10-1 ew.

national is all about one thing for me personally, as a horse racing fanatic i love to follow the forms, jockeys, news blah blah..

but national time is just take a dart and throw it at the racecard on the racing post :) theres ur pick for the day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,754 ✭✭✭Big Chief

oh and yes ofcourse i was sad and looked a wee bit of form for a couple of mins, but my ew bet (before my aforementioned dart throw) is Reveillez EW@ 33-1

You may throw another dart. He isn't in it.

Hold the Pin must be in with a long shot shout his jumping prolly the biggest concern. The rain will be of help.

Notre Pere (ground conditons) and Air Force One both out. Weights rise by 12 lbs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 143 ✭✭dundalkbhoy

i fancy drumconvis for this race

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Everyone is waiting on Notre Pere, if he is withdrawn the weights rise by 7 lb, the decision will be made at lunchtime. Jim Dreaper was 90% sure he'd not race yesterday but its been tipping down for a while where I am (Waterford) if its the same in Fairyhouse maybe it'll be on for him.

If Notre Pere doesn't run then look for something that likes good/soft and is near the bottom of the weights!

    Notre Pere is out.

Have backed Royal County Star and Newbay Prop each way, RCS looks sure to get in the places IMO(might not stay though)

I fancy forest leaves in this race.

He was 9-10 before notre pere was pulled out and is now only 10-1 according to the racing post which is only a 5 pound rise instead of the seven.

Had a tough race at cheltenham which is a negative though I suppose

i fancy him as well appeared not to stay at the festival, but 4m around cheltenham does not compare to 3.5 around fair.. Trow in operation houdini at 50/1 as well each and hoping for a decent run for 2 outsiders..

E/W on forest leaves and one cool cookie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,428 ✭✭✭Dotsie~tmp

Another for Forest Leaves. I got him €10 WIN @ 80/1 on Betfair with a place bet of €10 @ 10/1 (4 places) to boot. Got a tip from friend who gave me Docodonnel @ 50/1 a few weeks ago.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Vic Venturi on the drift, Rebel Chief back out, Royal County Star continuing to slide now 19/1, Wichita Lineman out to 12s

This is the reason I Dont back in the national.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 217 ✭✭geurrp the yard

I think That the horses are asked for too much in the nationals. It needs to be made less gruelling to ease the probability of horses dying in these races.

Bad luck with jonjo o'neill with this and exoctic dancer not long ago. Will never forget mccoys ride in cheltenham with wichita lineman this year.
