e39 Facia lock?

    No idea what else to call it. Guy who delivered the car had no clue and ideally I'd like to remove/unlock it now as opposed to taking it back to them on the weekend.

    The device appears to prevent opening of the facia containing the tape deck and Tone settings button. Pics below. Anyone know how this comes off? Normal pic and one with the offending device circled. Hopefully I'm being really thick here...

    I'd say it is just the remnants of an old air freshener. Why do you think it is a facia lock?

    Is that thing not for attaching your gps to if you don't want to attach it to the windscreen.

    Just bought a GPS last week and it had one it the box. It took a moment to figure out what it was for.

    it's likely to just be sticky fixered on. some dental floss is the thing for getting that off.

    They get stuck,common problem.The fix is to "bang" it inwards,obviously not to hard.
