Hi, I'm looking to design websites, at the moment I'm going through a HTML manual. What I want to know, is HTML the right way to go about it or should I be studying Dreamweaver or something simular?

do both. you should know the html code that dreamweaver auto generates for you in case you need to go into the code pages to change things in there. dreamweaver will help you create pages a lot quicker than if you were typing all the html code in manually.

I agree look into both. You can get a 30 day trial download of dreamweaver from adobe which has tutorials you can use. I found them pretty good.

I guess it also depends on what sort of websites you want to design. You may need to look into things like PHP, MySQL, ASP, etc down the line as well.

HTML is a good start though :)

I'd be more inclined to learn HTML, and CSS, fully before using something like Dreamweaver.

    Have a look at http://w3schools.com/
